Freedom to Dream. Independence to Thrive: Benjamin’s Story

Meet Benjamin

When Benjamin first came to MacDonald Training Center (MTC), he was still finding his footing. He had the drive. He had the heart. He just needed the right door to open.

Benjamin works at a Tampa Bay doctor’s office, managing lab orders, pulling patient results, scheduling appointments, and helping the whole practice run smoothly — a tribute to both his technical skills and his heart for people. And every day, he walks in knowing one thing for certain: I belong here.

That’s not just a win for Benjamin. That’s a win for all of us.

250 YEARS. ONE PROMISE.

Two hundred and fifty years ago, a bold idea was written down: that every person has the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Benjamin believes that. We believe that. And we believe you do too. His story reminds us that every single day, the promise of America is real.

Empowering people with disabilities to lead the lives they choose.

That’s our mission. Through MTC’s eMerge Career Education Post-Secondary program – individualized job training, and long-term coaching, we help people like Benjamin not just find a job – but build a career, a life, and a future that belongs entirely to them. And Benjamin’s story isn’t the exception. It’s the goal, for every single person we serve.

Help us write the next chapter

This Independence Day, your gift to MTC will open doors, fund the training and coaching that builds lasting independence, and reach more people ready for their chance to shine. One gift. One story at a time. This is how independence becomes real.

America turns 250 this July 4th — and the promise of independence is still being written. You are part of that story. Thank you for standing with Benjamin. Thank you for standing with MTC.
