MacDonald Training Center’s Quality Pledge

MacDonald Training Center shall strive to deliver products and services at a competitive price, on schedule, that meet or exceed customer requirements.

We shall commit to continuous improvement by training individuals for success.

Upgrading equipment and processes, improving essential practices, and creating an environment of total quality consciousness.

This policy is carried out at all levels in the organization.

Current training contracts range from light manufacturing, packaging, and assembly to sewing.

We provide high quality services to a diverse group of businesses, including Florida Turnpike Enterprises, SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment through Amazon, City of Tampa Water Department, Clearwater Packaging, Everglades Direct, Timbar Packaging and Design, Piedmont National, Nestle Vitality Professional, Tampa Electric Company and USF Alumni Association among others.

Many local entrepreneurs have entrusted packaging and fulfillment for their products including: Alligator Bob’s Premium Meat Sticks, Refresh-A-Baby Water Bottle Adaptor, Track Up Helicopter Blade Restraints, Home Association’s Clini-Caddie, Cigar City, and Gurus. Some of the new partnerships that require the use of our innovative “Controlled Environment Room” for highly regulated packaging have evolved through referrals from entrepreneurs involved with a business and innovation incubator developed by USF.

“The business had grown to the point where it’s more than I can handle, and I needed somebody to do the pick, pack and ship so I can concentrate on the selling. They do a very fine job,”

Robert Young

Alligator Bob CEO

“The McDonald Training Center provides a unique opportunity to employ a dedicated group of individuals who perform an important service to Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise’s SunPass Program.  Celebrating the packaging of the 10 millionth SunPass transponder is a testament to the success of this relationship,”

Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti

Executive Director and CEO of Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise.

Florida's Turnpike Enterprises

MTC’s evolving partnership as exclusive packager of the SunPass Transponder for the State of Florida continues to be a great source of pride for the people we serve and our organization. Skills learned through the steps of packaging the transponder continue as the hallmark of our innovative “Empowering People, Inspiring Change” (EPIC) curriculum, which is protected by copyright.

Since the beginning of this partnership in 2007, MTC has successfully packaged over 10 million transponders with a shipping rate of less than 6 errors for every 100,000 units packaged. Through the demands of this contract, the individuals we serve have developed vital skills for competitive employment. Many have taken these skills, including timeliness, dependability, attention to detail and conflict resolution with them to community based jobs.

We have vastly expanded the scope of our production capabilities including developing competency and expertise with sonic welding and blister packaging. It has also demonstrated to the community that people with disabilities and the organizations that serve them are capable of quality work.
